So while studying for the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Step 2 CK (don't ask, there are 3 steps, 4 exams, all extremely unnecessary and confusing) my head exploded and my stomach was growling voraciously and I decided to take a teeny weeny TV break. The food network caught my attention and being broadcast was a new show called "The Best Thing I Ever Ate - BACON". How amazing is this show. Some celebrity TV chef was talking about a place in San Francisco called Boccalone where they have SALUMI CONES instead of ice cream cones. You get to choose 3 different kinds of salumi and EAT IT. Sound amazing, I can't wait to go!
So this got me all thinking that you know, there are good things in my life worth sharing. I'm not all privileged like Gwyneth Paltrow and unfortunately I'm not friends with Mario Batali, but you know what, I know good food when I eat it! And I know cute stationary when I see it! And I'm good at loving the most expensive thing in any store, including that time when I went to some lighting warehouse and found myself magnetized to a $400 lamp!
So here begins the BOOP, or Betty's version of GOOP where I shall share from time to time great food, finds and.. fantasies. Like places I would like to go if I won the lottery. It will be all more interesting than medical stories, believe me.

GOOP #1 - EAT
So do you ever sit around, disgusted with yourself with eating out too much and decide that it's time for some home cooking? And have you ever put in all the effort and money into buying ingredients and slaved away in the kitchen and made a big mess only to be sorely disappointed because you followed some recipe off allrecipes.com or Chatelaine magazine?
Well that shall never happen again because I've found a great website for tried, tested and true yummy and classy recipes. It's the Food & Wine magazine website. Mike and I made proscuittuo, brie and apple panini for lunch this past weekend, accompanied by tangy tomato soup with tarragon croutons. WOW. TARRAGON CROUTONS sound scary but are SO GOOD. Make them you won't regret it. Gwynnie would approve.
